Our time is so precious to us all, especially in a Small Business and I want to share with you one of the best ways that I’ve found of saving my time when running Social Media. It has honestly saved me priceless hours and I wish I’d found it sooner rather than later. It is of course, Scheduling!
If you schedule your Social Media posts it just makes everything more efficient, it will free you up for what you love doing and what you do best, which is running your business and better than that, it will make you feel smugly in control.
If you are already posting on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linked In separately, then great but you could be getting a big kick out of your efficiency if you start to schedule. There are lots of free and paid for tools out there to use but the one I use is Hootsuite and for me, Hootsuite Pro does the job spectacularly well.
Just think for a minute about the time it takes to post on your platforms at the moment! It is quite laborious to find your picture and get hold of your link and then post your message and do it all over again for each platform isn’t it? Imagine how much time you could save if you only had to do this once for all your platforms every time you want to post. It really is a no-brainer. You can choose which platforms to include in your posts and you can choose times at which to post. Using your experience from previous posts, your insight pages and your analytics you might already have a good idea of the best times to post but otherwise you can use the old fashioned trial and error until you get it right.
The other magic that Hootsuite brings is organizing your Twitter into streams and lists which are super useful.
Streams give you an at a glance overview of what’s happening and lists can be customized by you as you wish. It’s a great way of targeting your messages, even if you alter just a small piece of your tweet or post to make it targeted and relevant to that audience, it’s really helpful to your audience and does really show how much you can offer to your different target markets. Once you have your lists, with your potential customers and/or influencers for example, then you can schedule specific messages to them which is going to make you much more relevant, I personally love this element of Hootsuite.
There are all sorts of other functions within Hootsuite, including the gem of advanced analytics. With this little beauty you can measure your success in engagement, follower growth, mentions retweets, insights post metrics, likes by region, daily likes to name but a few options. Hootsuite even gives you google analytics if you don’t already have it.
Another fab thing is bulk uploads, which is great if you have planned your blogs and content well in advance. In the scheduler you can schedule bulk updates across your networks or schedule weekly if you prefer, the choice, is all yours.
There are actually lots more features of using a Scheduler and if you want to find out more please do get in touch, I’d love to chat to you about how it might help you run your business more efficiently and of course, magically, save you some more of your very precious time.
