Many people think this is Mission Impossible but if you use some of these tricks you will start to turn it around and getting visible online will become possible. It will take time and work so let me make that clear and manage your expectations, there is no ‘quick fix’ for this.
One of the main things to do is to get known for what you do and what makes you different. Why are you unique? Really believe in what you do and keep your mindset positive and strong about your Business Mission. If you don’t yet have a Mission then put some time aside to think about it and create one for yourself. I did this and when I came up with my Mission, I posted it everywhere, stuck it up on the wall by my desk and decided to write a book about it and it started to make a huge sea change and mindset shift in the way I approached my Business. You don’t have to write a book but I do recommend thinking about and creating your own Mission Statement, writing it down, posting it and sharing it everywhere you can online.
Once you too, are on a positive track you need to get yourself out there and tell everyone about what you do and play to your strengths. Make sure you are driving your traffic back to your website with link-shares and blog with high value content. By this I mean tell everyone stories about your Mission and share the thinking behind how you decided on it. Blog about your successes and your uniqueness and what makes you different. This may take time but if you focus on delivering really useful and valuable content in your blogs it will pay off.
Use your Social Media to tease your blog content, use video, use Webinars, Facebook Ads and Joint Ventures in fact, use any of the Social Media platforms where you know your audience is to spread the word.
It’s all about getting yourself known for what you do and what makes you different..
Make the most of your time online, by this I mean work on FB groups to spread the word about your own Mission. I have had some great success with this, getting increased reach via groups that are interested in my Mission so think about groups where you know the people will be interested in your own Mission and share your best content with them. Try to organise some guest blogs on other websites, this will get you in front of another audience, use FB live video or create a Podcast as these are picked up by FB much better than normal posts. Better still, set up a YouTube channel and create videos about what you do and why it is unique, then you can share these on groups and with other connections who are interested in what you do. Think of it as a way of widening your net and by getting in front of your audience via someone else’s audience (remember to do this with their permission) is a fantastic opportunity to increase your online visibility.
The best way to think about it is to be in as many online places as you possibly can!
Getting visible offline can also help if you follow up by directing your new connections to your online messages. Networking is a brilliant way to put yourself in front of your audience and meeting new businesses will help you get your message out there. So go out and Network like fury, spread your Mission as wide as you possibly can.
If you have a mailing list then use that too. Yes, it’s offline but use it to tell your followers what you are doing online and put links in your email so they can just click through to your online messages.
Something that will make a big difference is being consistent, even if you think no-one is listening you do need to keep going. This is where your Mission comes in and if you believe in it and what you are doing then this will really help. I have been there myself and have posted regularly with no engagement and when I took a week of I started getting messages saying ‘where are you’ ‘we missing you’ which was brilliant to hear that people were listening to me just not engaging… so I urge you to be consistent and to keep on at it.
These are just some ideas to help you get more visible online. If you want to talk to me about the specifics of getting your own message more visible online then do get in touch with me email@example.com.
